Gressoney Saint Jean



Gressoney Saint Jean is the bigger of the two villages in the Gressoney valley (along side Gressoney la Trinite). It is located at an altitude of 1,385 above sea level. Gressoney Saint Jean has been a tourist favorite ever since the beginning of the 20th century, and has a wide variety of accommodation and entertainment facilities available for all sorts of tourists.

A popular tourist attraction is the Savoia Castle, built by Queen Margherita in 1894. Ever since, Gressoney Saint Jean has featured at the top of the list of Europe’s favorite winter tourist spots.

The entire Gressoney Saint Jean village is 12 km long and lies along the upper Lys Valley. There are mountains alongside the village that are higher than 3000 meters, giving a breathtaking view of the valley.

A must see in Gressoney Saint Jean in winters is the Leonardo David ski-slope, one of the most popular ski slopes around the Alps which is even valid for the Alpine ski world cup.
